There are many ways to help raise the literacy level in Oconee County

If you would like to become a BabyRead volunteer and are at least 21 years old, please submit the information shown on the right. Your request will be sent to our Lead for New Volunteer Interviews.

We can use your time and talents in many ways:

  • Reading to families

  • Obtaining books & organizing book drives

  • Helping with local fundraising activities (like Belk Charity Sales)

  • Developing and/or distributing promotional materials, flyers & posters

  • Identifying localspeaking opportunities

  • Organizing events & helping with publicity

  • Performing administrative support

  • Contacting churches & other supporting organizations

BabyRead® is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides free services to its families in Oconee County. Contributions are tax deductible to the extent of the law.
